The National Youth Chess Team is leaving Sri Lanka for Hungary on 13th of December 2014 to represent Sri Lanka at the World Youth Chess Olympiad 2014. This is the event for the under 16 years age group where at least one girl should be included in the team. The event will be held from 12th to 22nd December in Gyor, Hungary.as 9 round Swiss System Team event.

Dineth Nimnaka Naotunna(DS Senanayake College), Supun Dasantha Kuruppu(Ananda College), NNB Herath ( Ecole International School), Minul Sanjula Doluweera (Royal College) and Dasuni Hansika Mendis (Visakha Vidyalaya) are included in the team, Mrs. Sandamali Aviruppola, the Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya is accompanying the team as the team manager and the lady official. This is a very experienced team including the women's National Chess Champion, Dasuni Mendis, National Junior Champion, Minul Doluweera and the National Youth under 16 years Champion, Dineth Naotunna.
